French Business Envelope This looks like it would be for something sooo romantic, but I think actually it has something to do with hardware. Here we have a beautiful example of fabulous antique French typography! There are several styles of lettering on this piece – Script, Shadow Outline, Italic, and one that resembles Handwritten Capitals. It reads, “Exposition Universelle, Paris 1889.” The round medallions resemble coins or medals that appear to be metal and deeply engraved. ![]() It’s a lovely frame with Medallions in it, that is embellished with leaves and ribbon banners. This is from another fine antique French Invoice. You could use this as a label just as is. So cute!! I especially love the engraved Dog and Rooster images on it. I worked on this one for quite a few hours, but that’s okay because I love it!! Displayed above is an antique French Invoice for Dog Biscuits. ![]() I adore the “Bought of” graphic especially. I love the aged patina on the edges of this one! It is from a Seed and Feed merchant in Philadelphia. This is a wonderful antique invoice from 1912. I’ve included a full size printable of the vintage Ephemera invoice. It has such great typography and handwriting!! I just love the lock graphic on this piece. This is a circa 1869 invoice for a Hardware store in Baltimore. I like the purple ink too! I’m not sure if the date is 1901 or 1907 but it’s pretty old either way. (Update a very kind reader told me that this is a Dry Cleaning invoice. I believe it’s an invoice for some type of dyeing or painting company. I was digging through my boxes of old Ephemera recently and found this beauty! I’ve had it for a long time, but I guess I never got around to posting it. Here is the latest addition to this collection. I love the Paris address, exquisite handwriting, beautiful typography, and the darling stamp at the bottom! She is lovely to share so many beautiful things with us?!! I believe this one belonged to her Grandmother. Here we have another gorgeous piece of French Ephemera from our dear friends at La Miette Bricole. It would be fun to frame the way it is too. This is a wonderful French Invoice for a Flower Seller… and it is a bright Peachy Pink!! I’ve included a full size printable so that you can print it out and use it for your Collage or Mixed Media projects. I love the handwriting too!
